Donnerstag, 13.08.2015: The Problem of Boltzmann Brains and How Bohmian Mechanics Helps Solving It

I will explain in this talk what a "Boltzmann brain" is, why it poses a problem for cosmology, why its solution depends on the foundations of quantum mechanics, and which situation arises in the Bohmian version of quantum mechanics. This is joint work with Shelly Goldstein and Ward Struyve.
