Advanced Topics in Mathematical Quantum Theory

This course is a continuation of

Mathematical Quantum Theory

It is an elective course within the

Master Program in Mathematical Physics

Students enrolled in the regular mathematics or physics programs in Tübingen are also welcome!

Course goals.

This course develops the fundamentals of quantum many-body physics from different angles. The main topics are:

(i) energies levels of many-fermion systems (including Weyl's law and Thomas-Fermi theory)

(ii) ground state properties in quantum spin systems

These topics are chosen to present two highlights of rigorous mathematical physics and to prepare students for conducting their own research in the highly active areas of spectral theory and  quantum lattice systems.

This is a mathematics course motivated by interesting physical problems. All statements will be proved rigorously.

Logistics.

(1) The course materials are available on ILIAS.

This includes a detailed syllabus with all relevant course information (course outline, homework and exam policy, literature recommendations, etc.)

The course password is "amqt2023".

(2) The registration for the exercise sessions is handled via URM. You can use this link:
