On Alternative Theories of Gravity

General relativity is a century old theory of gravity which still passes all tests we are currently able to perform. The last decade in gravitational wave astrophysics gave us, however, new methods to test gravity in the more unknown strong field regime. In this talk we will learn about viable alternatives and generalizations of general relativity and how the predictions of those theories differ in that regime. The tool used to extract those differences is a post-newtonian analysis.
