Kilian Rückschloß

Kilian Rückschloß received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from LMU Munich in 2024 with a thesis on the theory of counterfactual reasoning. Since 2024, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Mathematical Methods in Computer Science under the supervision of Stephan Eckstein at the University of Tübingen.
His research interests lie in the mathematical and logical foundations of causal reasoning in artificial intelligence. In particular, he studies counterfactual reasoning, causal inference, and probabilistic and relational approaches to artificial intelligence. A central focus of his work is the question of how logical and probabilistic models can be used to formally represent interventions, explanations, and hypothetical scenarios.
His current research investigates causal structures in probabilistic logic programs, Bayesian networks, and statistical relational AI. The goal of his work is to develop mathematically rigorous foundations for transparent and scientifically grounded causal reasoning in artificial intelligence.
