Donnerstag, 11.06.2026: Light cone bounds for a class of bosonic Hamiltonians

We will discuss information propagation bounds for a class of time-dependent bosonic Hamiltonians $H(t)$ with a local boson number restricted by $q$. We show that the corresponding Lieb-Robinson velocity is bounded by $q|t|^d$, where $t$ denotes time and $d$ is the lattice dimension. Consequently, for initial states with bounded density, the Lieb-Robinson velocity is bounded by $|t|^d$, up to logarithmic corrections. Our primary application is to Bose-Hubbard type systems, extending existing results to permit time-dependent Hamiltonians.

Freitag, 12.06.2026: Cellular free resolutions for normalizations of toric ideals

How are the geometric properties of toric subvarieties reflected in the homological properties of their homogeneous ideals? In this talk, we address this question by constructing an explicit free resolution of the integral closure of a toric ring. Leveraging this combinatorial framework, we then study resolutions of the diagonal embedding of a toric variety. This talk is based on joint work with Christine Berkesch, Lauren Cranton Heller, and Jay Yang.
