Pre-Colloquium
Mathematical Colloquium
The mathematics colloquium takes place on Mondays at 5.15pm (main slot). There are sometimes colloquium talks on Friday afternoon, too. Before the colloquium, colloquium tea is served at 4.45pm.
In addition, the department invites all colloquium speakers to give a pre-colloquium starting at 4pm. The pre-colloquium shall give master and PhD students access to the topic of the main colloquium. Basic notions should be explained and easy examples should be discussed so that students get a first impression of the field and can ask more introductory questions.
The usual schedule thus is:
4:00 - 4:45pm pre-colloquium for students, including questions,
4:45 - 5:15pm tea with students and members of the department,
5:15 - 6:15pm main talk including questions.
After the talk there will be a dinner in one of the many nice restaurants in Tübingen.
