Toric geometry
Algebraic geometry and Toric varieties
The class will be held in english, if international students take part. Of course, questions can be asked in German, so this is not an obstruction for any German speaking student.
If you have questions about the class, please contact Parisa Ebrahimian, Veronika Körber, or Hannah Markwig.

The class meets Mondays 10-12 and Tuesdays 12-14 in N14. EXCEPTION: Mo, June 22 we meet in S8.
We follow the book by Cox, Little, Schenck.
There will be weekly exercise classes on Wednesdays, 10 am in S8. You can hand in exercises in groups up to three students. The exercise classes start in the third week of term, i.e. on Wednesday, April 29.
The first homework is due on April 21.
There will be oral exams in summer.
Homework 2: Please solve Exercises 1.1.2, 1.1.5 and 1.1.12 from the book. Hand in the solution until April 28 via urm.
Homework 3: Please solve Exercises 1.2.1, 1.2.2(a) and 1.2.15. Hand in the solutions until May 5 via urm.
Homework 4: Please solve Exercises 1.2.9, 1.2.14, 1.3.3 and 1.3.4. A hint for 1.2.14: you may use Exercise 1.1.3 and the fact that the ideal given by the lattice basis is already saturated. The latter can be confirmed e.g. by a Computeralgebrasystem such as Singular. Hand in the solutions until May 12 via urm.
Homework 5: Please solve Exercises 1.3.2, 1.3.9 and 1.3.14 from the book. Hand in the solutions until May 19 via urm.
Homework 8: Please solve Exercises 2.1.2,2.1.3 and 2.1.6 from the book. Hand in the solutions until June 15 via urm.
